Education Director

San Diego Junior Theatre is seeking an Education Director. The position is exempt full-time, and it includes health and dental benefits. Job Summary: Responsible for the smooth running of education operations including three school-year sessions, summer and vacation camps, and outreach programs. Responsible for the recruitment, training and management of teachers and aides. Responsible for education program development including planning, brochures and schedules, developing new curriculum, and creating new opportunities. Shared responsibility (with Executive Director and other staff) for education administrative activities and strategic planning.

Qualifications - Required: BA in Theatre or Education; teaching experience in the arts; experience working with children and young adults; office and basic computer skills; some supervisory experience. Desired: Degree in Theatre Education; MFA; theatre education experience; experience working with families; non-profit experience. San Diego Junior Theatre is the oldest continuously-running children’s theatre program in the US, producing quality programming for arts lovers of all ages. Our main stage is located, along with our administrative offices, in beautiful Balboa Park.
