 Job Description        

Klassic Kids is a licensed childcare fee-based program offered at multiple sites throughout San Diego County. This program provides a safe and nurturing environment based on social- emotional principles to support children’s well-being and school success. This position is required to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the children enrolled in the program. Implementation of homework assistance, arts & craft/special activities, recreation and supervision of children are primary responsibilities. Youth Program Leaders are responsible for supporting the healthy social/emotional development of children enrolled in the program in line with Early Childhood Development best practices. This includes using behavioral reinforcement programs, behavioral strategies to address problematic behavior, and strength based approaches. Status: Non-Exempt Program Service Area: Children’s Before and After School Program Department: Klassic Kids Hours: Part time; 0 - 34 hours per week; Shifts are AM and PM hours Salary: $14.00 per hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience) Benefits: 403b Retirement Plan with a match of up to 2% based on years of service; CA Paid Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked with a maximum accrual of 80 hours per calendar year Reports to: Site Director Direct Report: N/A EEO Job Category: Service Worker Harmonium's Mission is to provide quality services that advance well-being in children, youth and their families through safe, nurturing and respectful relationships. Minimum Competencies:  Possess Community Care Licensing qualifications for child care Counselor, Section 101315, including at least 9 units and currently enrolled in at 3 units in early education, child, growth and development, recreation, humanities, or education including college work-study, volunteer or internship  18 years of age or older  Must be CPR and First Aid certified  A minimum of 6 months experience working, volunteering and/or interning with school-aged children programs such as day cares, recreation programs, social service agencies  Demonstrated ability in arts and crafts, games and special activities  Ability to relate well to children and adults  Reliable automobile, valid CA Driver’s license and maintain proof of current automobile insurance  Valid TB results required  Must receive Fingerprint Clearance upon hire (paid by Harmonium)  Ability to substitute at other licensed locations throughout San Diego Physical Requirement:  Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching above, and below the shoulder  Ability to lift and carry up to 20-50 pounds  High energy needed with the ability to balance multiple high-stress tasks  Ability to work in a noisy and outdoors environment  Occasional travel in San Diego County  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
