Job Developer - Full Time

 Job Description        

Organizational Background: Our mission is to disrupt the cycles of incarceration and poverty by helping people find their way to self-sufficiency. Second Chance creates opportunities for people to transform their own lives through programs that provide job readiness and life skills training, job placement, behavioral health and prisoner re-entry services, relapse prevention and sober-living housing for adults and youth in need. We foster behavioral changes that promote personal responsibility, healthy relationships and positive contributions to society. Reentry Works Program Overview: The Reentry Works Program is an extension of the America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) network that is based inside Las Colinas Detention & Reentry Facility. Through the Reentry works program, inmates will be provided career assessments, job seeker services, and job placement services pre-release from custody. Staff will also provide case management services post release to ensure continued success. The goals of the program are to reduce recidivism and increase employment outcomes.

 

 Qualifications        

Responsibilities: The Job Developer is responsible to help identify high-demand industries and facilitate relationships with employers who are willing to hire justice involved individuals, while serving as a crucial resource for professional development to all clients. This person will conduct regular outreach to new contacts, help organize “Employer Socials” and host mock interviews to prepare clients for the job market, among other tasks. Education: Bachelor’s degree in social or human services or related field required. A combination of relevant college coursework and at least two years’ experience performing similar duties and responsibilities may substitute for college degree. Qualifications: Three or more years of job development or related experience. Experience working with re-entry populations and workforce development programs a plus. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
