 Job Description        

Responsibilities: Conduct community outreach to get participants enrolled in the program, oversee assessments, plan and execute participant after care groups and provide program support. The following are examples of duties: · Conduct outreach presentations in custody, at community forums/ events, for probation and street outreach · Provided engaged enrollment- make follow up calls, ensure participants complete intake process, schedule and oversee program assessments · Provide support with program drug testing · Provide administrative support to the Job Readiness Training program · Conduct follow up calls to program graduates · Coordinate aftercare group activities · Work collaboratively with other Second Chance programs to ensure support for program participants · Participates in Second Chance staff meetings, trainings and other duties assigned



Education: High school diploma or possession of high school equivalency Preferred- At least 24 college credits Qualifications: Required- ability to make impactful presentations to a wide variety of individuals Preferred- Formerly incarcerated individual with at least five years off paper and out of the criminal justice system. JRT graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience working with adult criminal justice system. Requirements: Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Must have valid driver’s license and pass agency’s DMV check as well as provide proof of automobile insurance at agency-mandated liability levels. Must be willing to transport participants in your personal vehicle. Clearance on the following tests which will be paid for by San Diego Second Chance: · Tuberculosis test · Background Fingerprint check · Drug Test

VISIT WWW.SECONDCHANCEPROGRAM.ORG/CAREERS Program Overview: Strive Fresh Start (SFS) is a two year grant funded position aimed at supporting formerly incarcerated individuals to achieve their employment and education goals. SFS is part of our four-week intensive Job Readiness Training program. SFS serves formerly incarcerated individuals or those still on supervisors. SFS works in collaboration with other Second Chance programs and community partners. Services include; needs assessment, case management, conflict resolution, behavior modification and job placement. The goal of the program is to reduce recidivism and support individuals in becoming self-sufficiency and valuable contributors to families, employers and community.
