Resident Services Coordinator

 Job Description        

The RSC’s primary role is to provide comprehensive case management in a residential setting to families living in our affordable housing properties of Hollywood Palms and at Village View along with the other 9 properties in the City Heights 10 as needed. Three categories of assistance are provided: • Services to individuals and families: Provide information and referral, advocacy, and case management services to individuals and families in crisis or in need of social, educational, and/or employment services. • Leadership Development: Promote and encourage civic engagement through trainings and linkages to other community initiatives, especially those involving safety and neighborhood improvement. • After-school Program: Provide academic support, activities, and supervision of youth in grades K-12 that are enrolled in the after-school program.

 

 Qualifications        

To effectively perform this job, the ideal candidate will have: 1.An in-depth knowledge of family dynamics, crisis intervention, community engagement and development, and a high degree of cultural sensitivity. 2.Ability to relate to youth and adults in a professional manner and maintain professional boundaries. 3.Ability to work independently and on a team with various partners and programs. 4.Ability to recognize problems, identify potential solutions, and make critical decisions in the field. 5.Understanding and/or experience working in disadvantaged, inner city communities and with issues of low-income families including but not limited to immigration, refugee relocation, domestic violence, parenting, substance abuse, etc. 6.High attention to detail and ability to carry out assignments independently. 7.High degree of cultural sensitivity, with proficiency in a second language other than English.
