Full-time Intervention Facilitator Ė San Diego

 Job Description        

Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Facilitator will be responsible for implementing a new teen pregnancy prevention group intervention at partnering homeless youth agencies with young people. This is part of a research study to test the new program. The Facilitator will be responsible for recruitment, following up with selected youth, and scheduling and co facilitating sessions at participating agencies per protocol. They must be familiar with the curriculum and take the lead in facilitation. The facilitator will be the project representative in San Diego and will work closely with partner agencies and the Childrenís Hospital Los Angeles team. Must be flexible with working hours. Will be required to travel around City of San Diego, Escondido, etc to facilitate groups on weekly basis.



Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, health education, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Masterís degree preferred. A minimum of two years previous case management or health education experience and previous work with youth and/or at risk youth/homeless youth required. Must be able to work independently and problem solve challenging situations as this position is remote. Experience in program planning and implementation; administrative/supervisory experience preferred. Some work with research projects preferred. Ability to work productively with diverse populations including demonstrated expertise in building and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Must be detailed oriented. Willing to travel to Los Angeles to meet with team quarterly. Valid California Driverís License and reliable insured automobile required.


 Additional Information        

Facilitator duties: 1. Plans and implements group sessions in accordance with the program manual. Prepares for group sessions by reviewing program manual and other related materials. Also reminds participants of upcoming sessions 2. Promotes the program by distributing posters to the agencies and attending recruitment events. 3. Ensures that the necessary facilities, equipment and materials are available for the sessions. 4. Maintains related records and reports in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure fidelity and monitoring. 5. Creates working relationships with each partner agency 6.
