 Job Description        

Family Consultants are key staff who work directly with SCRC’s clients. Family Consultants provide consultation to clients and families, perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, give information on and referral to community resources, facilitate caregiver support groups, provide individual counseling, and facilitate psychoeducational classes throughout San Diego County.



• Masters degree in a clinical discipline (MSW, MFT, MA). Clinical licensure or working towards clinical licensure required. • Bilingual in Spanish/English desired. • Knowledge and skills to thoroughly assess the needs of family caregivers including knowledge related to a variety of chronic and disabling health conditions, relevant community resources, helpful interventions, long-term care planning options, and issues related to caregiver mental health. • Familiarity with health and mental health agencies, social service agencies and formal/informal support networks.• Ability to maintain thorough and accurate case records and documentation.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English. • Organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. • Computer literacy and ability to use a variety of software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with a variety of staff, clients and collaborative partners. • Some public speaking/group education experience desirable. • Possession of valid driver license and vehicle for use on the job. Southern Caregiver Resource Center (SCRC) is a private, non-profit social services agency that has been offering services to family caregivers of adults with chronic and disabling conditions since 1987. Salary commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits including generous paid time off, sick time, holidays, health, dental, vision, EAP, 403B, clinical supervision.
