Gender, Youth & Social Dynamics Lead - Malawi

 Job Description        

Ensure that the social dimensions of food security and community resilience – in particular, gender and youth integration – are effectively addressed across all activity components, at all levels, throughout the entire award period. Provide technical leadership in the core areas of gender, youth, and social dynamics, and manage execution of fully integrated activities across the four technical pillars of the Government of Malawi’s National Resilience Strategy’s four pillars, which are noted above. Co-design and lead implementation of integrated GYSD activities directly supporting communities and households in achieving resilience to shocks and stresses.



A bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant academic area – e.g. a social science discipline – plus 7 years of field experience at the community level. Demonstration of progressively increasing responsibility managing the gender and youth social dynamics activities of large, complex development projects. Deep understanding of food security programming, with expertise in how gender, age (youth, especially adolescent girls), and other locally significant socio-cultural factors and social dynamics inform the local context of food security, climate-smart agriculture, and nutrition.
