Status: Non-Exempt Program Service Area: Children’s Before and After School Programs Department: Prime Time and/or Charter School Before and After school Programs Location Varies, multi-site worker Hours: Part Time, 0 - 34 hours per week; Shifts are AM & PM hours and varies by site Salary: $13.56 per hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience); Funding:100% direct program approved by ELO 10.1.18 Benefits: 403b Retirement Plan with a match of up to 2% based on years of service; CA Paid Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked with a maximum accrual of 80 hours per calendar year. Reports to: Site Director - ASES Direct Report: N/A EEO Job Category: Service Worker Description: Our Youth Leaders are mandated to take all steps necessary to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the children enrolled in the program. Essential Functions Communication  Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with school site, parents, children and Harmonium staff  Communicate with parents regarding their child on a daily basis Agency Leadership  Follow policies in own role which are determined by others; no responsibility and leadership required for service development, but may be required to comment on policies, procedures, or possible developments Job Complexity  Supervise day-to-day activities of the program while maintaining ratios within contract  Redirect inappropriate child behavior and provide disciplinary action and notify Site Director when necessary  Provide academic homework assistance Accountability  Maintain a clean and orderly designated school space  Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of students enrolled in the program Decision Making  Judgments and decisions are guided by Harmonium and program policies, contracts and guidelines Staff Supervision  Ordinarily, no supervisory responsibility except occasional project based work



Minimum Competencies:  18 years of age  Pass CAPE test or have a minimum of 48 completed college units  A minimum of 6 months experience working and/or volunteering in an after school or group child care setting with elementary aged children  Valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required  Demonstrated ability in sports, special interests and hobbies, and/or arts & crafts  Ability to relate well to children and adults  Valid TB results required  Must receive Fingerprint Clearance upon hire (paid by Harmonium) Physical Requirements:  Ability to operate computer  Frequent repetitive hand use and simple grasping  Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching above, and below the shoulder  Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds  Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods  Ability to operate a vehicle  High energy needed with the ability to balance multiple high-stress tasks  Ability to work in noisy and outdoor environments  Occasional travel in San Diego County  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Disclaimer:  Harmonium is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer  The employee is required is adhere to all Harmonium policy when employed  The preceding description is ONLY a general description of essential duties and not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of this position  Job description is subject to change at any time
