Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Education and Programming • In consultation with the Religious School Director, provide and implement a combination of programming and education opportunities to enrich Reform Jewish learning for all Temple youth. Ensure that programs for the year and individual age appropriate activities fit into a plan of educational, social and social action goals for the year. • Coordinate with the Religious School Director to integrate Youth and Religious School activities appropriately. Assist in all school programs. • Promote youth participation for NFTY SOCAL Regional Events. Promote youth participation with potential attendance at local, regional, and national youth programming and retreats. • Supervise all Senior Youth Group BITY board meetings. • Work with Senior Youth Group BITY board to organize activities for teens. • Maintain resource bank(s) for youth programs. • Organize and administer twice yearly Religious School camp and one family ca



Job Summary The Director of Youth and Camp creates and oversees youth programming for the Temple. The function is to foster social, spiritual, educational and social action programming for Temple children. All youth programming activities should enable children to develop and deepen their connections to Reform Judaism, other Jewish youth, Beth Israel, the local community and Israel. IV. Qualifications, Knowledge and Abilities • Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s Degree • Knowledge of and commitment to Reform Judaism including prayers, rituals and holidays. • Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • The ability to work with youth of all ages. • Knowledge of child development issues. • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task; attention to detail.  Additional Information        

V. Work Hours Per Week Required Full-time position. Schedule may vary depending on time of year and organizational activities. Availability for evenings and weekends is required. Must be willing to work Jewish holidays as needed. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); some evening and weekends work may be required
