Bi-lingual Family Advocate

 Job Description        

Summary: The Family Advocate provides case management and basic crisis intervention services to participants of CRC’s Child Abuse (AT) Treatment Program. Working within the assigned treatment team, the Family Advocate assists clients/caregivers in creating a Family Service plan, problem- solving, setting, and working toward both long and short-term goals, serving as the link between families and community resources including mental health, medical, allied health, childcare, legal services, education and other community resources. This is a grant-funded hourly (non-exempt) position.



Requirements: •Human service experience, including case management and crisis intervention, knowledge of child abuse, trauma, family violence is required. •Have at least two years’ experience providing family advocacy services. •Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or a social service related field. •Must have completed a 40-hour domestic violence within 90 days of hire. •Social services knowledge •Computer literacy and ability to work a flexible schedule is required. •Proficiency in Spanish Language is required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: •Conduct telephone screenings with caregiver/parents of potential clients; assist parents/guardians with identifying their individual and family strengths and needs •Conduct assessment and assist with developing family service plans. •Make referrals and link families to needed community resources as needed •Follow up with families to assess goal attainment or to adjust/adapt goals, as needed. •Coordinate services when families are connected with more than one service. •Provide weekly case management through advocacy, and as-needed crisis intervention, and associated support services to clients. •Assist/Advocate families in utilizing community services and resources such as medical, dental, social, speech, occupational and educational needs including special education services and advocacy for IEP/504 process. **For full job description please go to
