Position Title: Bilingual Case Manger
Classification: FT Non-exempt
Division: Immigration Services
Department: San Diego Rapid Response
Location: Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus
Reports to: Shelter Manager
Pay Rate: $20/hour

Position Overview: SDRRN Supportive Services Bilingual Case Managers are responsible for providing the direct services related to sheltering asylum seekers, individuals and families and providing direct financial assistance to immigrant community members in the San Diego border region. The Bilingual Case Managers will work with volunteers, fellow Immigration Services Team members, and SDRRN partners to provide respite sheltering to asylum seeking individuals released from the Otay Mesa Detention Center or asylum-seeking families released from the Department of Homeland Security. Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
Skills/Abilities that are a Must-Have:
• Bachelor of Social Work or other human service field is required with a general understanding of social service programs
• Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish
• Minimum of one year of experience in a case management/service coordination role, ideally working with an immigrant population or with persons experiencing crisis
• Understanding of foreign-born immigrant populations and the concept of trauma-informed care
• Sensitivity to cultural differences present in the service population
• Excellent judgment and instinct, especially when working autonomously
• Demonstrated persistence in finding resources that address the needs of the clients
• Ability to offer professional and friendly service in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and desire to work in a team environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including regular evening hours (at least 1-2 per week) and weekends
• Comfort working in an environment where multiple
