Client Intake Volunteer

 Job Description        

A client intake volunteer is essential to the service Interfaith offers to people in our community. With empathy and resourcefulness, a client intake volunteer will provide intake, assessment, and referrals for the homeless and low-income population, with the goal of moving clients from crisis to self-sufficiency.

 

 Qualifications        

Experience in social services preferred. Must clear criminal background check. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population. Ability to establish quick rapport with clients. Knowledge of mental illness and substance abuse. Absolutely solid values: honest, loyal, hard working, and sincere. Possesses strong attention to detail. Have the leadership skills, wisdom and initiative to accomplish assignments successfully through independent ability and good judgment. Experience using computer applications and databases (e.g., MS Office, Web-based applications).

 

 Additional Information        

This is an ongoing (6+ months), weekly commitment. One shift per week or multiple shifts per week. Great volunteer assignment for people with various client-related experience, as well as recent graduates in Human Development, Sociology, Criminal Justice, etc. Offices in Escondido and Oceanside.
