Therapist - Temporary

 Job Description        

SUMMARY Responsible for providing children, youth, and their families an array of therapeutic services, and working in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. In addition to therapeutic interventions, program therapists must engage in case management, ongoing collaboration with outside professionals, and discharge planning for the children/families. Collaborative partnerships with youth and families are critical; Average caseload 12-16 youth/families. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) • Provides general orientation of child/youth and family to FFAST program and treatment options • Completes comprehensive intake assessment that includes mental health, physical health, trauma, and possible substance abuse • Formulates, monitors, and revises a comprehensive client plan, which addresses specific short-term and long-term goals, for the child and family based on assessments and input from the multi-disciplinary treatment team

 

 Qualifications        

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited university • Must be a registered intern in social work (ASW), psychology (Ph.D/Psy.D.), or marriage and family therapy (IMFT), or licensed LCSW, MFT, or Psychologist • Valid California Driver’s License, acceptable diving record, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Knowledge of trauma, attachment, grief/loss, and foster care culture are a plus • Experience with Parent Management Training, Positive Discipline, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, PCIT PRIDE Skills, Motivational Interviewing • Training/experience in the area of children and families • Knowledge of basic case management skills • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting • Proficient in Cerner (electronic medical records system) • Proficient in Microsoft
