 Job Description        

The Sr. Program Manager, YORP, reports to the Sr. Program Director . This role is responsible for the day to day operations and supervisory aspects of the Youthful Offender Rehabilitation Program. This includes coordination and oversight of the case management, counseling, vocational, and psycho-educational services. The Sr. Program Manager, YORP has responsibility for the day to day program operations at the County of San Diego Probation Department’s Juvenile Detention Facilities: Kearny Mesa and East Mesa and program operations in the community unit. This position requires incumbent to make independent and discretionary decisions and to work independently and with minimal supervision and guidance.



• Three (3) years of specialized experience in providing counseling, social or education services for high risk youth or young adults. • One (1) year of cross-disciplinary team experience. • One (1) year of experience assisting with drafting and monitoring program budgets • One (1) year of experience with re-entry of justice involved adults and /or youth. • One (1) year of experience conducting risk need assessments, individual and group counseling. • Two (2) years’ experience updating and managing participant data in a data management system. • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, restorative practices and CBT practices. • Must have knowledge of and experience with juvenile justice and/or criminal justice systems, programs, and issues • Must be able to work occasional evenings. • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, human services, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or other related field

The Youthful Offender Rehabilitation Program (YORP) uses evidence-based curricula and cognitive behavioral training and interventions to aid incarcerated youth. The program is designed to meet the needs of the county’s most severe and chronic juvenile offenders. Offer competitive benefits package and training. • The rate of pay is $ 60-65K/DOE per year.
