Burn Survivor Services Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

 Job Description        

Assist with planning, coordination, and implementation of select Burn Survivor Support Programs offered to San Diego and Imperial County. Core duties and tasks include: Organize, coordinate, and monitor administrative tasks for burn survivor support services under the direction of the Burn Survivor Support Manager. Perform word processing, spread sheet operations, and data base. Assist with coordinating outreach for programs/events. Assist in obtaining resources from community, social, health, and welfare agencies to meet client needs. Assist clients in completing necessary paperwork for programs/services. Maintain database, files, expense records and reports. Secure lodging/travel for clients for various programs/events. Produce program newsletters/promotional materials. Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings. Maintain sensitivity to confidential and routine information. Produce monthly and other written reports including program statistics.



A Bachelorís Degree in Human/Social Services preferred. Experience working in a non-profit office environment or similar field. Successful experience and demonstrated ability in organizational administration, with a sensitivity to personal information of our population served. Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills required. Must have the ability to work independently and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors and the public. Ability to maintain a positive, solution focused demeanor in response to problems and challenges is a must. Must have good administrative computer skills and work as a positive representative of the Burn Institute. Bilingual (English/Spanish, speaking/writing) desired.


 Additional Information        

Individual would attend board meetings and any other meetings and/or conferences as requested. Must possess and maintain California Driverís License and automobile insurance. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Employment at the Burn Institute is at-will. Flexibility: Occasional weekend and evening hours are necessary. This position is approximately 20 hours a week during normal business hours of Monday- Friday in our Kearny Mesa office. Compensation is $16 per hour.
