Tax Assistance Volunteer

 Job Description        

Basic and advanced training will be provided in January 2019. Interns will need to pass basic and ethics training, which will be provided in January 2019. Must be over the age of 18 years old. With this internship, not only do you get to experience the joy of giving back to others while building your resume, you will receive 1 credit for continuing education and a reference letter for your services. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn, understand and file Federal and State Taxes for refugees and low income families.

 

 Qualifications        

If you are interested in learning more about income taxes and get great experience in the accounting field, join our team of VITA volunteers! These are the areas you can help with, and the qualifications for each: a. Greeter/intake/interview/ interpreter need to pass two simple tests on standards of conduct and intake/interview. b. Basic Level need to pass tests on standards of conduct, intake/interview and basic tax preparation. c. Advanced Level need to pass tests on standards of conduct, intake/interview and advanced level tax preparation.
