Accounting Manager

 Job Description        

Manage processing of payroll, to include the review of timesheets, the input of new employee information; editing existing employee information, and processing bi-monthly web based payroll; distribute employee’s payroll checks. Oversee the accounts payable function for the Food-Bank; prepare invoices and purchase orders for submission to JCSDFB; Maintain accurate and detail vendor files; act as liaison to vendors regarding payment status of invoices. Prepare month-end adjustments and reports. Reconcile general ledger accounts. Provide support to the CFO during the annual audit and budget cycles. Supervise the Accounting Clerk and Receptionist, review work for accuracy. Provide guidance to Office Administrator regarding supply requisitions and budgetary considerations. Provide day-to-day support and work with staff to ensure a high performance, customer service oriented work environment. Manage all communications for the CFO, including routine correspondence with government agencies. F



A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a closely related field; and at least 5 years of accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge & understanding of GAAP & double-entry accounting General ledger account reconciliation experience Experience closing the books at month-end A/P & A/R experience Intermediate - Advanced Excel skills (formulas, conditional formatting, analyzing large data sets, etc.) Microsoft Office & QuickBooks experience Payroll processing & reconciliation experience Basic financial reporting experience Cash handling experience The ability to work in a fast-paced environment Clear and effective communication skills (both orally and in writing)
