The Library Shop is hiring a part-time retail associate! Hours are part-time (up to 24 hours a week) and days and shifts are flexible. Sucessful applicants will be courteous and comfortable working with customers from all walks of life, friendly, personable, upbeat, reliable and are great advocates for libraries and the mission of the San Diego Public Library Foundation. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Starting pay is $12-$15 per hour, negotiable depending upon experience. Previous retail work is preferred but a passion for libraries is the only skill we cannot teach you!
Job responsibilities include: assisting customers, restocking merchandise, working the cash register, assisting with events, and representing the San Diego Public Library Foundation to the general public. Some visual merchandising, receiving & social media work will also be part of the daily routine.
