Medi-cal Biller

 Job Description        

Position Title: Medi-cal Biller Position open for a full-time Medi-Cal Biller for mental health services utilizing an electronic health record billing system. Applicants should have a minimum of 1 year experience in Mental Health Services Billing and/or Data Entry. Applicant must have knowledge of Medi-Cal terminology and experience in data entry; payment posting is preferred. Applicant will be expected to uphold Medi-Cal, Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance guidelines in relation to billing, data entry, PHI information, privacy and security matters. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure data is entered into electronic health record system accurately and in a timely manner. Strictly adhere to data security and privacy practices in accordance with HIPAA and New Alternatives, Inc guidelines. Communicate effectively with numerous program staff to ensure correct billing practices are utilized. Effectively complete multiple tasks simultaneously throughout the day.

 

 Qualifications        

Preferred Experience and Knowledge: 2 years of Mental Health Services Billing and/or data entry. Understanding of Medicare, Medi-cal, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes. Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines, confidentiality and impeccable record keeping. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, take initiative, and have flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
