 Job Description        

San Diego Art Institute (SDAI) seeks an Administrative Assistant to provide a varied and broad range of support to the Development and Communications Director. That support is likely to include work associated with: admission/reception, data collection and tracking, marketing and public relations, responding to inquiries, etc. SDAI is an 8,000 square foot contemporary art center located in San Diego’s Balboa Park. Founded in 1941, SDAI has evolved into a showcase featuring contemporary art and artists living in Southern California and Northern Baja. Current programming includes several major annual exhibitions, an active artist-in-residence program, and a robust series of lectures, workshops, performances, and social/cultural events. We seek to provide insight into the artistic process, foster community partnerships, and encourage appreciation and respect for the abundant talent that resides in and animates the region.



Directly related work experience in reception, retail sales, & customer relations. Strong skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel). An interest in and commitment to the mission of SDAI. Strong writing/communication skills. Ability to multitask as this person works from the reception desk. Knowledge of the Adobe suite. Graphic Design skills. Knowledge of and interest in contemporary art.


 Additional Information        

This is a part-time position requiring 30 hours per week, including occasional weekend and evening responsibilities. Salary is $13 to $15 per hour based on experience.
