About Francis Parker School: Francis Parker School is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1300 students in grades JK-12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world”. Overlooking Mission Valley, two separate campuses serve students in Lower School – junior kindergarten through 5th grade; Middle School – 6th grade through 8th grade and Upper School – 9th grade through 12th grade. As a college preparatory school Parker offers a comprehensive program that includes twenty-five advanced placement courses as well as a rich palette of electives – all designed to meet the individual needs of our students. Job Description: This opening is for a long-term substitute position, beginning immediately and extending for an indeterminate time. The position is full-time: 40 hours per week - Monday through Friday (7:45 am - 3:30 p.m.).

 

 Qualifications        

Qualifications: Applicants should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and experience delivering intervention services to elementary school-aged children in the areas of both math and reading. A working knowledge of response-to-intervention and multi-tiered systems of support models within non-public school settings is highly desirable. Prior elementary school experience is essential, particularly working with students who display learning differences, and a teaching credential is desirable. The successful applicant will be computer literate, possess excellent writing skills, be willing to work as a strong team member, and have an abiding interest in helping young people experience success in school. Additionally, an understanding of Singapore Math and Balanced Literacy is also desirable

 

 Additional Information        

Salary and Benefits: The long-term sub rate is $225 per day. This position is not eligible for benefits.
