 Job Description        

Provides executive admin support to the office of the VP, External Relations (VPER). This includes stewardship management, event & meeting management, complex calendaring, arranging travel, processing & tracking expenses, preparing reports for high-end donors, gathering materials & information for meetings, & answering/screening the VP’s phone calls. Drafts, proofreads, & edits correspondence, briefings & reports for Board of Trustees, senior faculty & administrators. Interacts with all levels of the organization, including executive administration & senior faculty, trustees, major donors and prospects, & community contacts & organizations. Acts as liaison to the President's office for Development office scheduling & planning issues. Partners with VPER to plan, coordinate & execute biennial international summit event for top donors & faculty. Demonstrates a high degree of tact, diplomacy, judgment and political sensitivity in all communications.



REQUIRED: Please submit a cover letter when submitting application. Education: Required: •Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Experience: Required: •Five plus (5+) years of increasingly responsible senior level administrative support to one or more individuals. •Prior experience in writing/editing general correspondence and miscellaneous documents. •Prior experience managing events from inception to close. Preferred: •Prior experience working in a Development/fundraising environment. •Prior experience managing special projects for high level administrator Special Requirements: •Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment. •Satisfactory completion of the Institute’s background investigation. •Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed. Some overtime and weekend work may be required. •Demonstrated ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion in all matters that pertain to the Office of the Vice President, External Relations.

Physical Requirements: This position requires constant adjusting focus, grasping, hearing, keying, seeing, sitting, talking, communicating, reading, writing and working inside.
