 Job Description        

Specific Responsibilities: Accountable to ILS Program Manager. Responsible for providing services that equip eligible current and former foster youth, between the ages of fourteen (14) and their twenty-first (21st) birthday, with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions in key life skill areas concerning education, employment, money management, permanency connections, self-care and social development, daily living skills, housing, transportation, community resources. Responsible for facilitating weekly and monthly workshops in both Central/North Central and East Region of San Diego County to assist youth in the learning of independent life skills. Responsible for supporting the planning and coordination of group activities and special events to support life skills development. Implement outreach to eligible youth, caregivers, group homes and other supportive partners. Maintain accurate and timely records in order to track youth’s progress.



Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or social-service related field is preferred, with a minimum of one year of experience in working with adolescents or equivalent knowledge or experience. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred. Experience facilitating and leading classes and workshops is preferred. Familiar with the Juvenile Justice/Probation and Extended Foster Care and social service systems preferred. Knowledge of the transitional age youth population is a plus. Some home-based services experience and knowledge of Central, North Central and East County resources is a plus. Ability to de-escalate and respond to crises appropriately. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred.
