|
The Accounts Payable Specialist, reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for processing and reconciliation of agency’s monthly invoices and may be asked to assist with backup reception coverage.
• Process invoices for payments from multiple locations and obtain proper approval
• Maintain an accurate record of all purchase orders and vendor statements
• Review invoices to ensure the accuracy of general ledger expense account and class codes
• Review and verify accounts payable aging to general ledger account
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and reviewing data entries; Prepare and make daily bank deposits
• Reconcile and analyze accounts payable accounts and produce aging reports
• Verify discrepancies of invoices and resolve vendor inquiries
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a closely related, preferably from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum 2 years or more of payroll and A/P experience
• Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)
• Not-for-profit experience preferred
• Meet background and security clearance guidelines and pass background check:
o Criminal background clearance through the State of California Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
o Drug Testing as required by federal contracts.
• Maintain a valid Tuberculosis Test and renew annually or as statutorily required.

Job salary
• This position is non-exempt (hourly), on a temporary basis, full-time, 40 hours/week. The rate of pay is $ 16-18 per hour DOE.
