Development Assistant

 Job Description        

•Provide administrative and clerical support to DPO and development department, including calendaring and scheduling of meetings along with meeting preparation •Complete donation processes with daily acknowledgment letters •Comfortable learning and using data base systems such as Sales Force, Raiser’s Edge and Apricot to record donor updates •Send appreciation and acknowledgement gifts, cards and notes to constituents •Support the tracking of due dates for grant proposals, reports and ensure copies are maintained in the shared drive and grant management system •Make daily deposits •Assist in reconciling monthly financial reports to ensure donations are reported accurately •Draft sponsorship proposals and assemble packets per donor requests •Develop and ensure compliance with In-Kind and other gift acceptance and recognition procedures •As requested, conduct donor and community research as it pertains to development •Update meeting agendas, minutes •Other duties as assigned.



•Proficiency in computer skills including the entire MS Office programs including Outlook and MS Word, Excel, internet communication programs, and database software programs such as SalesForce & RaisersEdge. •Ability to meet deadlines is a must. •Excellent writing, editing and presentation ability including proofreading skills. •Ability to demonstrate initiative, complete tasks assigned, and report on assignments. •Ability to pay attention to detail. •Ability to work under pressure and meet assigned deadlines. •Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, diplomacy and tact. •Professional demeanor, flexibility and ability to respond to multiple demands. •Able to work as part of a close-knit team. •Communicates regularly with supervisor about department or assignment issues. •Produce high-quality work and follow through on projects. •Must be able to successfully pass the child abuse clearance, fingerprinting, and background check.


 Additional Information        

The Development Assistant is a support position to the development department and reports to the Director of Philanthropic Operations (DPO). This position provides administrative and departmental support to the DPO and the development department including, but not limited to, development reconciliation, coordinating meetings, prepare written communication, scheduling and preparing for meetings, data entry donation and letter acknowledgments, organizing mailing orders, assisting with other development and community initiatives, and supporting other officewide activities.
