About Francis Parker School: Francis Parker School is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1310 students in grades JK-12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world.” Francis Parker School has two campuses in close proximity. One in Mission Hills (Lower School JK-5), and a second in Linda Vista (Middle and Upper School 6-8 and 9-12, respectively). Job Description: This opening is full-time, temporary for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year: Monday - Friday (8:00 am - 4:30 pm). The School is seeking an Associate Teacher with experience working in elementary schools. Instructional responsibilities will involve contributing to and teaching lessons, working closely with a classroom teacher and grade level team to coordinate curriculum and instruction, and communicating closely and effectively within the school community. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty members, including Associate Teachers, may participate in other components of the life of the school, including committees and duties.



Qualifications: Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, and a teaching credential is desirable. Prior elementary school experience is essential. The successful applicant will be computer literate, possess excellent writing skills, be willing to work as a strong team member, and have an abiding interest in helping young people experience success in school. Additionally, an understanding of Singapore Math and Balanced Literacy is also desirable.

Salary and Benefits: This temporary Full Time Associate Teacher position is not eligible for health benefits. This position is paid hourly with pay ranging from $14.50 - $17.50 per hour, depending on experience and educational background.
