JOB SUMMARY: The Neighborhood Revitalization Department is seeking a Foreman to partner with homeowners in select communities to address needed exterior repairs necessary to improve health, safety and accessibility concerns, paint, landscape and fencing. The NR Foreman plans and leads volunteers to complete these projects.
The ideal candidate will provide volunteers with a meaningful experience while assuring quality control and job site safety. More technical work is subcontracted that may include weatherization (roof and window) and minor repair services.

Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
Entry level construction or related job experience
Basic carpentry skills, comfortable using hand and power tools, and exterior painting
Basic sustainable landscaping knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and project management software
Ability to engage, train, supervise volunteers so ensure they have a rewarding experience.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus
50% OUTSIDE: conditions that occasionally include inclement heat. Noise level will be loud at times.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, and frequent bending, lifting and use of hand and power tools.
Must be able to pass background check (In accordance with state and county law: convictions do not necessarily rule out employment, it depends on the nature and severity of the conviction and is evaluated on a case by case basis, check is conducted on last 7 years only.)
Valid California Drivers License and good driving record
Ability to drive throughout the San Diego region
Ability to drive pickup and stake bed trucks
Ability to be insured under company insurance

This position is part-time, three to fours per week on average to include some Saturdays. Paid hourly and benefits to include medical, dental and vision, paid time off and holidays.
